Story
All That We Perceive is a large-scale portrait of my wife. There isn't an elaborate story behind this one. I simply wanted to paint her.
The pose is a little unconventional, and I liked the way the softness of the blue palette worked against the warmth of her skin. I wanted to let the painting be about the person herself, without needing to attach a bigger narrative to it.
Sometimes that's enough. You see someone you love, you see something beautiful, and you want to paint it.
