Chuck Chuck Goose

Chuck Chuck Goose is the second installment of the Chucks series.

This painting captures a familiar, comfortable moment—sitting criss-cross applesauce in a favorite pair of Converse All-Stars. The pose is relaxed and playful, with the Chucks stepping forward as the main subject.

Like the other paintings in the series, the shoes are my own, photographed during a self-directed photoshoot. I wanted to capture the personality of something as everyday as a pair of sneakers and give it the attention usually reserved for traditional portrait subjects.

The title is a little bit of wordplay, because a series about Chucks needed a little bit of fun.
