Juno's Play

Juno’s Play is the companion piece to Argus’ Eyes. Painted simultaneously, these two works explore the hidden beauty of the peacock beyond the famous tail display.

While peacocks are often recognized for their dramatic feathers, these paintings focus instead on the incredible colors and textures found in their faces and necks. The blurred tail allows the viewer to look closer and appreciate the details that are often overlooked.

The name comes from my love of Greek mythology. Juno (the Roman name for Hera) was the goddess who honored her faithful servant Argus by preserving his hundred eyes in the peacock’s tail.
